Dear Church Family,

We had some great experiences this week with some wonderful events!
On Monday, we packed St. Paul's CME Church for Nehemiah Action to bring before our community leaders the need for affordable housing and literacy programs. Not only did we have the opportunity to hear about positive things that are being done in both areas, but our community leaders also assured us that they will continue to work to improve both areas of concern.
I want to thank all of the Asburians and Wesley Oakians who showed up. I especially want to give a shout out to our choir who sang and inspired us with the song, Roll Down, Justice. We appreciate all that our own Rev, Claire Marich did to organize and make this event a success.
On Tuesday, our Green Team along with Georgia Interfaith Power and Light sponsored a showing of the documentary, Common Ground. The film was viewed in Holliday Hall at Asbury and was outstanding. So often we only get the bad news regarding the environment and our future. This award-winning film also shared very encouraging news. If you weren't able to join us on Tuesday, I hope you will find a way to see this film.
On Friday, David Alley and Chuck Eyler represented the church at the Earth Day Festival in Daffin Park this past Friday. David manned a table about our Green Team, and Chuck manned a table for Georgia Interfaith Power and Light. It was good to see other church members there.
On Sunday, we'll continue to celebrate God's world and creation. During the service, Bill "Bird Man" Anderson and Ellie "Turtle Gal" Covington will be sharing some of their thoughts about creation and the care of our environment. I'm really looking forward to hearing from these two Nature Lovers and Creation Caretakers!

THANK YOU, NANCY

Nancy Munoz has been a member of Asbury for almost 20 years. The last 10 of those years, she has served on staff as our official ..........well, it's hard to name the position because she does so much. She opens the doors of the church on Sundays, she helps greet and register those who come for worship, she prepares the drinks and cookies for Coffee Hour, she checks on the children, she locks the church up when everyone leaves, and does all kinds of other odd jobs at church on Sundays.
Nancy, however, has moved to Sumter, South Carolina, and will need to retire from her Sunday position. It is a two-and-a-half-hour drive, but Nancy says that she still plans to come to church.
I hope you will be at church tomorrow when we thank Nancy for all she has done for us and so many others.

ANNOUNCING OUR GOD ON BROADWAY MUSICALS FOR 2024

Every Sunday in April, we're revealing the name of one of the musicals we'll be using for God on Broadway in October. So far, we've revealed two musicals (Oklahoma and Finding Neverland). We'll find out what the 3rd musical is on Sunday!

Fake Emails

Last but not least, let me apologize to any of you who have received a fake email from someone posing as me. I am so sorry. These hackers are getting better. One of them this week actually had "Asbury Memorial" in their address. So please beware that this is happening. If you have any question regarding an email that says it is from me, please call me and double-check. Thanks!
Hope to see you soon.
Love and Blessings to all!
Billy
