Church Family,Â
If you are having difficulty experiencing joy in this troubled world we live in, have I got a service for you! Our text on Sunday is about Mother Mary, and Mary has so much wisdom to offer us about joy. She will bless us!Â
You'll also be blessed by the beauty of the Christmas Poinsettias that have been given in honor and in memory of Loved Ones. Thank you to everyone who helped supply our Poinsettias, and a special thank you to Randy Canady, Beth Ballance, and August Alderman for placing the poinsettias in the sanctuary.
Another cool thing about this worship service is that some of Wesley Oak's choir members will be joining our choir on Sunday. Wesley Oak will be presenting a Christmas Cantata at their 9:30 a.m. service. Then Wesley's choir members will join Asbury's choir to sing two songs from the Cantata in Asbury's worship service. Can't wait!

SUZIE WILLIAMS' FUNERAL, GRAVESIDE AT 3:30 ON SUNDAY
As most of you know, our longtime Asburian and friend, Suzie Williams, made her transition to eternity this past week. We are looking forward to celebrating Suzie's life at a graveside service at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon at Bonaventure Cemetery. Here is the link to see the wonderful obituary written about Suzie. What an incredible person and life!

CHURCH CHRISTMAS PARTY, SUNDAY, 6:00 PM
Come one, come all to our Covered-Dish, Pot Luck Christmas Supper and Celebration this Sunday. The festivities start at 6:00 pm in Holliday Hall. Now is the time to bring your favorite dishes and food items to share with others. We'll even make a plate for Santa and Mrs. Clause as they are supposed to be dropping by for a visit.
SPECIAL SUPPORT GROUP OFFERED, MONDAY AT 6:30 PM
Therapist, Ruthie Deffley, will again be offering a special support group experience for anyone struggling with fear, depression, or anxiety after the election and during the holidays. Thirty people gathered in the sanctuary at the first session. We realize that everyone who wanted to participate, could not attend, so I'm glad we could offer it again. The group session will be at the church on Monday, the 16th, at 6:30 p.m.Â
COPIES OF WOW! WISDOMÂ ARE NOW IN THE OFFICE
The church office had run out of copies of my second book, Wow! Wisdom. Sorry about that. That has been remedied. There are now about 25 signed copies of Wow! Wisdom in the office.Â
Unsigned copies can be purchased on Amazon at the following link:
Also, church member, Margaret Clay has just come out with a new inspirational book called, Dawning. There will be a separate email from the church giving details about it.
THE ANGELL TREE
The Asbury Angells Youth Group is again sponsoring an Angell Tree for Christmas gifts and coats for children. This year we are working with P.A.C.K. and Family Promise, two local organizations who help families and children in need. Just pick a tag from the Christmas Tree located on the stage in Holliday Hall and purchase the item on the back of the tag. Please bring the unwrapped item to the Church on or before next Sunday, December 22nd so we can deliver them to P.A.C.K. and Family Promise. Please contact Chris Kincade, Beth Tyson, or the church office if you have any questions.Â
TEN O'CLOCK HOUR TAKING A BREAK 'TIL JANUARY 5TH
Due to the busy church schedule in December, the Ten O'clock Hour Study Group will not meet during the rest of December. We look forward to starting back again on Sunday, January 5th. Hope you will join us then!
2025 COMMITMENT CARDS & END OF THE YEAR GIVING
I want to thank those of you who turned in a Commitment Card for your financial pledge to the church and its ministries for 2025. We can't be doing all that we're doing without your support. Thank you.
If you have not yet made your 2025 commitment, would you take a few minutes today, tomorrow, or in worship on Sunday to make your commitment to the ministry of our church for 2025? Remember, no pledge is too small.....AND no pledge is too large! (LOL) You can make your pledge online or in person with a commitment card on Sunday.Â
Also, as we come to the end of the year, the church finds itself fiscally short of its budget need. We will need to use funds from our church savings. If you are in a situation to make any special gifts or donations to the church as we come to the end of the year, it would be greatly appreciated.
Don't forget to check out the December Newsletter!Â
Hope you will join us this Sunday as we continue our Advent journey together!
Love,
Billy
