This will be my last Sunday with you for awhile. I will be at the church for the Memorial Service for Liz Sprague on July 15th. Other than that occasion, I don't plan to be back at the church until Sunday, August 20th. I'm looking forward to using this time to work on our house and yard, to make plans for future worship services (including God On Broadway), and praying about how Asbury Memorial and Wesley Oak can continue to be in ministry together in the future. Cheri and I will also take a trip to NYC in August to see the grandchild!

I'm excited that you will be blessed by a string of guest preachers and speakers. Since our choir will be taking the rest of July off, you will also be treated to great musical solos, duets, trios, and ensembles. I send a special "Thank you" to everyone who will be pinch hitting while I am away...including our retired pastors who will be acting as "Host Ministers."

We will be celebrating the Lord's Supper this Sunday. If you are worshipping with us online, I hope you will participate with us. All you need to have with you is juice or water and bread or a cracker.

It's the first Sunday of the month, so we will be having our BIG Coffee Hour. I look forward to seeing you in the social hall after the service so I can offer you my blessings for a good summer. If you are able, please bring food to share with others. You can drop your items off in the kitchen when you arrive at the church. As you fellowship in Holliday Hall, you can say to yourself, "Just think...two days ago, Clint Eastwood was standing right where I am standing directing a scene for his next movie!" 

The Raise the Roof Capital Campaign is still going on, and there are plenty of dates to choose from on the 12 monthly calendars. If you have not signed up for a date, you may do so by going HERE. If you have any questions, please call the church office at 912-233-4351. 

The doors at Asbury and Wesley Oak are always wide open for anyone looking for a church home and a church family. Our next New Member Classes will be in October. I look forward to preaching my last sermon ("Eagles & Servants") before my break. I'm excited about its possibilities. However, for the first time, I am struggling with gout in my right knee. Pray that I can focus on my work tomorrow so you get the sermon you deserve. I'm just about to go drink a gallon of Black Cherry Juice and hop in bed!
