Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Church Family,

The liturgical color is usually purple during the season of Lent, but Sunday is St. Patrick's Day and we're in Savannah, Georgia! That means we suspend "purple" for one day and go with GREEN.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. If you go downtown for the parade and festivities, have a great time, but please be safe. We want you to be able to worship with us on real St. Patty's Day, March 17th...this Sunday!
Our opening hymn will be the well-known, St. Patrick's Breastplate, another one of our hymns will be sung to the tune of Danny Boy, and our closing benediction will be the famous Irish Blessing. So St. Patrick's shadow will play a big part of our worship.
The other parts of the service will focus on our theme for Lent, Roll Down, Justice! As you may recall, St. Patrick was held in captivity and enslaved as a young man. He would have been thrilled with our Lenten Worship Series, and its focus on justice.

Only One More Wednesday Night Supper & Taizé Service

This coming Wednesday will be our last Wednesday Night Supper for the season. The suppers have been incredible! The food has been delicious and the fellowship engaging. We give a special "Thank You" to our Kitchen Hospitality Team for all they do for us. "You all are amazing!"
So folks, please join us for our last supper starting at 5:30 p.m.
Be sure to call the church office on Monday for a reservation or go Online and register there.
Then join us for our last Taizé Service. I don't want the Taizé Services to end — they are food for the soul. I want to thank Ray Ellis for helping with music, Greg Johnson for being our cantor, and Randy Canady for designing and arranging the incredible visuals we have for the services. If you have not been to a Taizé Service, please try to attend and experience this last one. You will be glad you did. The service starts right at 6:30 p.m.

Prayers for JUST Rally

This Monday at 7:00 pm, Asbury will be hosting a rally for JUST (Justice Unites Savannah Together.) Members of faith communities from all over the city will be meeting in our sanctuary to receive updates about affordable housing and education in our community. The participants will also be planning the big Nehemiah Action event that will be on April 15th. Please jot that date down in your calendar because we need your presence there. The more people we have in attendance, the better chance we have of making positive strides with housing and education in our community.

Holy Week Services

Palm Sunday will be on March 24th and is the start of Holy Week.
We will have a Maundy Thursday Service on March 28th,
and we will have a Good Friday Tenebrae Service on March 29th.
I will include the times of the services in next week's email, but please go ahead and mark these dates in your calendar.

Easter Egg Hunt

An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at our Wesley Oak campus on Saturday, March 30th. All children are welcomed, so spread the news!
And, if you can help volunteer, please contact Chris Kincade (our Children's Director) or call the church office.

Easter Letter Coming to You

Be on the lookout for a letter from me regarding this year's special Easter Offering. I believe you will be excited about how the funds will be used. I know I am. Be sure to read the letter.
Don't forget to read the March Newsletter and get caught up on all the Asbury-Wesley Oak News!
I'm looking forward to worshipping with you in person or online on St. Patrick's Day.
God bless you!
Love,
Billy
