Stewardship Month

If you worshiped with us last Sunday, you heard the Addams family talk about Stewardship Month. "Grandmama" gave a heartwarming speech about the many things we have to be thankful for: like spiders, snakes, and splinters that are extremely deep! She also reminded us that November is Stewardship Month and that Commitment Sunday (when we make our financial pledge for 2024) will be the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 19th. We'll be presenting things about stewardship each Sunday in November. Be sure to read the monthly newsletter articles about stewardship written by Rev. Richard Allen, who is on our Stewardship Committee.

Grief Seminar, Tomorrow

Our Stephen Ministry is sponsoring a Grief Seminar that will be tomorrow, November 4th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00. Betsey Kammerud, who is the Manager of Full Circle Grief and Loss Center at Hospice Savannah, will be leading the seminar. For information and to reserve your place, please contact Candace Jenkins at cjenkins@AsburyMemorial.org.

Omkari's Book Signing Tomorrow

Many of you will remember Asburian Omkari Williams, who moved to Chicago a number of years ago. I'm happy to report that Omakri has a new book and will be in town tomorrow for a book signing and talk. Omkari's book is titled, Micro Activism: How You Can Make a Difference in the World without a Bullhorn. The "Book Signing and Talk" with Omkari is from 6:30 pm — 8:00 pm. at E. Shaver's (Starland Location), 1921 Bull Street. Please note, that it is at Shaver's Starland shop. Hope some of our folks can drop by to support Omkari.

Medicare Seminar, Sunday, November 5th

Melissa McBride Stille, a licensed insurance agent and health care broker with Stille-DeWitt Health Brokerage, LLC., will be holding a workshop to help explain and answer questions about Medicare on Sunday, November 5, 2023. The seminar will be after Coffee Hour.
Whether you are approaching Medicare eligibility or currently enrolled in the program, this workshop will provide you with valuable information to make informed decisions about your healthcare coverage.
After last Sunday's service, Cheri and I hopped on a plane to New York City. I had an appointment at Sloan Kettering on Monday morning for my bi-annual MRI. Everything checked out fine. Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers.
Ironically, Monday was also my grandson's first birthday, so Cheri and I got to be with Anson when he turned "one." We also got to be with him for his first outing to go Trick or Treating on Tuesday. What a joy it was! I put a pic below of him in costume so you can see the young man in action.
I look forward to being with you in person and through Livestream on Sunday!
Love & Blessings
Billy
