This Sunday: Oklahoma!

Church Family,

My prayers have been with you all as we make our way back from the aftermath of Helene. I hope that you have power by now. And if not, I pray that it will be restored to you soon. If you are in need of help and resources, please contact us at the church office or call or text me directly.
Asbury now has full power...and just in time, as we start our God On Broadway Series this Sunday. Please invite everyone you see today and tomorrow to this unique experience of combining theatre with theology. Hopefully you have some of our promo cards you can hand out. Please take some on Sunday to pass out for the rest of the series.
On Wednesday night, I encouraged our choir to take the promo cards and to invite anyone they met the rest of the week. On Thursday morning, I took my truck to Gerber Collision and Glass. A large limb had fallen on my truck during the storm, so I needed to take it in for body work. I met the receptionist and felt led to give her a GOB Promo Card. But since I was leaving my truck, I had taken out the cards before I left home, so I didn't have any with me. The young woman then invited me to have a seat in their waiting room until the adjuster could meet with me about the truck. I walked in the room and there on the center table were about five God On Broadway Promo Cards! I couldn't believe it! Someone in our faith community is working hard to get the word out! May this be a great example for all of us. By the way, I picked up one of the cards and gave it to the receptionist. I asked her who had placed them there, but she didn't know.
God On Broadway is our most effective way of bringing new people into our faith community. It is those people who end up being part of our ministries, serving on our committees, and helping us with our church budget. We only have this kind of opportunity once a year, so please do what you can to invite people to church. Most importantly, there are lots of people out there who need the love and support that a faith community can offer them. I recently met with someone who will be in our next New Member Class, They had been meaning to try Asbury for years, but never did. Now they wish they had tried it many years ago. So invite, invite, invite! Someone may just need a little encouragement. You may be doing someone a big favor.

"BIG" COFFEE HOUR

It's the first Sunday of the month, so we'll be having our brunch after the worship service. Please bring food items to share with others. We hope to have a lot more people visiting, so if you can bring a little more than you normally do, that would be great. You can drop the items off in the kitchen when you arrive. Thank you!!!

10 O'CLOCK HOUR - Sunday School for Adults!

Do you want to be part of a closer community within Asbury? Do you want to be with those who are searching, learning, and growing? Join the folks in Holliday Hall at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday morning. Coffee is ready to go at 9:45 a.m., so feel free to gather around the coffee pot before the group gathers. The group has just started a great study called, Living the Questions. They watch a 20 minute video and then follow with discussion and sharing. All are welcomed!
