Church Family,

Sorry for getting this email out to you a day later than I had planned. I think all of you know why there has been a delay. Helene decided to make her presence felt even more than what we had anticipated. My heart goes out to all who have experienced devastation throughout the country. Some of our own church members have had heartbreaking experiences. We will keep you posted on some of these situations once we all catch our breath from what we've experienced. Let us all be in prayer for all of the .first responders, medical workers, and power workers who have been working non-stop.
Some people have asked if we are having a church service tomorrow. I can't think of a more appropriate time to come together as a church family. As of right now (4:30 pm), the church does not have power. That situation could change, of course, but let's assume it isn't remedied by tomorrow morning. Please plan your attire as though we will not have air conditioning. Here's your chance to wear your summer casuals one last time!
We obviously will not be able to have our service online if the power is not on. However, if it does return, business will be as usual.
Please note that we will NOT be having our 10 O'clock Hour program tomorrow. It will get back on track next Sunday.
Don't forget that next Sunday starts our God On Broadway Services. We'll also have BIG Coffee Hour next week.
One of the marks Helene left the church was a toppled tree in our courtyard. It fell on our three figures who are singing and praising. I love the picture above that shows the tree on the figures. It reminds me of the heart and spirit of the people of Asbury and Wesley Oak — people who even in the midst of life are able to persevere and rejoice!
God bless you all and hope to see you tomorrow!
Love and Blessings!
Billy
