FLOWERS FOR THE SERVICE:
The flowers for the service were given in honor of Asbury Memorial by Omkair & Cindy Hill-Williams.

SPECIAL THANKS:
Every Sunday at Asbury, there are people who work behind the scenes to help make the day so meaningful and wonderful for us and our visitors. We thank those unsung heroes of faith — our Hospitality Team, our Ushers and Greeters, our Nursery Workers, and our Children's Church Teachers.

RIBBONS FOR A REASON: Shanelle Shellman, 27, who died by gunfire July 13, 2016

SPECIAL MUSIC: "Moses"
Music and Lyrics by: Ken Medema
Soloist: Steven Reed
Pianist: Kay Deffley

SERMON: "The Better Part"
The Rev. Nathan Godley bases his sermon on a passage from the Gospel of Luke, where Jesus visits the home of Martha and Mary. Martha complains that she had to do all the work of preparing the meal, while Mary sat at Jesus' feet instead, and Jesus said that Mary had done the "better part." Rev. Godley encouraged us all to honor Jesus, who is a reflection of the invisible God, by reflecting Jesus' and God's love to others in our lives.
Scripture:  Luke 10:38-42 [NIV Translation; others available at the link]

BENEDICTION:
The Rev. Nathan Godley delivers his benediction for the service, followed by Cheri Hester signing the congregation's customary close for every service, singing "Here I Am, Lord."
