The guest preacher for this Sunday was Rev. Susan Karlson. Rev. Karlson is a Unitarian Universalist minister, who serves as a Chaplain at Hospice Savannah. She lives in the Asbury neighborhood with her husband Alan and her sweet-natured dog Lilly. They have four daughters. Susan served as a Disaster Response Coordinator after Superstorm Sandy, doing recovery work in the boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey. She was a parish minister in Wilmington, NC, Gulfport, MS, and Staten Island, NY. She holds a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC, and a Master of Social Work from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, VA. She is a LCSW in the State of Georgia and has a previous ordination as a Minister of Yoga.

RIBBONS FOR A REASON
Rev Danny Adams-Edwards announced that Asbury had added another orange ribbon to the courtyard fence to commemorate the death by gun violence of Malik Jackson, age 18, who died by gunshot on August 1, 2016.
