The guest preacher for this Sunday was Rev. Bob Chvatal. Bob is of Czechoslovakian heritage and is a native of New York City. He is a retired Presbyterian minister and was a hospice chaplain/bereavement counselor for 25 years in Charlotte, NC, Tampa, FL, and Santa Fe, NM. He moved to Savannah in 2014 and resides with his husband, Ross Bolton. We are blessed to have Bob as a part of the Asbury faith community—and as a member of the Asbury Memorial Choir.

Rev. Marilyn Leigh announced that Asbury had added another orange ribbon to the courtyard fence to commemorate the death by gun violence of Daniel Landy, age 29, who died by gunshot on August 19, 2016.
