Peter Pan is a musical adaptation of J. M. Barrie's 1904 play, Peter Pan, and Barrie's own novelization of it, Peter and Wendy. The music is mostly by Mark "Moose" Charlap, with additional music by Jule Styne. Carolyn Leigh wrote most of the lyrics, with additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green.

REVELATION OF THE PAN: "Tender Shepherd" and "Never Never Land"

The Darling children go to sleep as the Asbury Choir sings "Tender Shepherd." Tinker Bell makes a mysterious appearance, and Peter Pan arrives to look for his shadow, which he lost while escaping from the children's room on an earlier secret visit. He finds the shadow in the drawer where Mrs. Darling stored it and tries to re-attach it. Wendy awakens to help Peter get his shadow back, whereupon Peter tells Wendy about his home in "Never Never Land."
