July 16, 2017: 6th Sunday after Pentecost Second Sunday in the 2017 Asbury Memorial UMC "Summer Preaching Series"
The guest speaker for this Sunday's service was Rev. Nathan Godley. He was born in Savannah and was an active member and leader at Epworth United Methodist Church. After graduating from Armstrong State University, he attended the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. He served a variety of churches in the South Georgia UMC Conference, including Epworth United Methodist Church and White Bluff United Methodist Church in Savannah. After retiring, Nathan and his wife Patty bought the 17Hundred90 Inn and Restaurant in historic downtown Savannah, which their son Patrick now manages.
The flowers for this Sunday's service were given in honor of Kathryn Murph's grandparents.
Special Thanks:
Every Sunday at Asbury, there are people who work behind the scenes to help make the day so meaningful and wonderful for all of us and for our visitors. We thank those unsung heroes of faith—our hospitality team, ushers, greeters, connectors, nursery workers, and children's church teachers.
