A "God on Broadway" Service — Music and Themes from Aladdin
Aladdin is a musical based on the 1992 Disney animated film of the same name with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin. Beguelin also wrote the book. The musical includes three songs written for the film by Ashman but not used there and four new songs written by Menken and Beguelin. The story follows the familiar tale of a poor young man who is granted three wishes by a genie in a lamp, which he uses to woo a princess and to thwart the sultan's evil Grand Vizier. Set in the fictional Arabian city of Agrabah, the characters and setting are Middle Eastern.

Flowers:

During "God on Broadway," Asbury Memorial place flowers in the Narthex, rather than at the front of the sanctuary.

Special Thanks:

Every Sunday at Asbury, there are people who work behind the scenes to help make the day so meaningful and wonderful for all of us and for our visitors. We thank those unsung heroes of faith—our hospitality team, ushers, greeters, connectors, nursery workers, and children's church teachers.

Note:

The Asbury Memorial United Methodist Choir is a volunteer choir and does not perform for a paid audience. Asbury Memorial does not charge admission for its "God on Broadway" Worship Series. There are no known copyright restrictions being violated in these worship services.
